Briogeo Hair Products Review

Briogeo Scalp Revival and Rosarco Milk in their blue/green packing stating Wish Granted...more good hair days

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

About mid-December I was introduced to a new hair product line that would change my daily routine for the better. For a brief period of time, I worked at a local salon + spa so I was able to purchase salon hair products such as Unite, Moroccan Oil, Redken, Pureology, and more. After trying various shampoos + conditions I fell in love with Moroccan Oil and have used it ever since 2013-2014? (It’s a rough estimate) Well, until I tried Briogeo Hair Care.

I had originally stumbled across the company while watching Ingrid Nilsen’s Winter Scalp video. She had mentioned how their Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment had been a lifesaver for her. Since I love trying new products and Christmas was around the corner, I actually purchased it for my boyfriend as a gift. (We both have dry flakey scalps - especially during the winter).

When I received the package they also included Blossom & BloomTM Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner samples as well as their Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray. The samples of the shampoo + condition lasted between 3-4 washes since I didn’t have to use much of the product. The main reason I like this hair care so much is because it reminds me of Drunk Elephant with how to products are made without harmful chemicals and being cruelty-free. All of their products are safe to use on color/keratin /chemically treated and relaxed hair.

Founded by Nancy Twine, she had been helped her grandmother (as early as 5 years old!) with her homemade hair care. After her move to New York she later began Briogeo Hair Care due to other products not living up to their claims. (You can read more about her here.) The reason I love these products is that they are formulated without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, DEA and synthetic color.* All of their products are also 90-100% naturally derived and are in recycled + recyclable. Another huge bonus is that their formulas are cruelty-free as well as mostly gluten-free + vegan.* If you want to hear my personal experience with their products - keep on reading!

Blossom & Bloom™ Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner

$24 - 8 oz.

This duo is perfect if your looking to add volume without that textured feeling while still maintaining shiny and soft locks. Another reason why I was impressed by this shampoo + conditioner was how my hair felt afterwards. Normally with volumizers they give your hair this weird texture that can be hard to style (my hair becomes a rats-nest with most products). P.S I had to use their photos of the the products since I only had samples and I have since thrown them away.

One of my favorite parts of this duo would be how incredibly fresh they smelled - I always felt awake after using the products. Last but not least, what impressed me the most was how well their conditioner works. Normally, I am extremely picking when it comes to my conditioner due to the fact that my hair is color treated and dry+damaged. But this conditioner stood up to the test of my high-maintenance hair, leaving it soft and hydrated. After my shower I always use a wide-tooth comb to distribute their Rosarco Milk leave-in conditioning spray then I apply Moroccan Oil to the ends. Both shampoo + conditioner are made with the following ingredients:

Ginseng: stimulating effect while also promoting overall scalp health.*

Biotin: essential vitamin that supports fullness + thickness.*

Maltodextrin: a natural sugar starch that coats the hair to enhance a volumized look.*

Witch Hazel Extract: clarifying agent that absorbs oil to extend the time between washes.*

The next duo that is on my list to try from this brand is their Rosarco line (they are currently out of stock at the moment).

Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment

$32 - 1 oz.

Since hearing about this product on YouTube, I was highly interested in trying this product for my boyfriend and I. Our scalps have been extremely dry + itchy since moving to Colorado and we have been on the hunt for anything to help. After reading many positive reviews I decided to take the plunge and gift it to my boyfriend for Christmas. (His poor scalp was worse than mine! Plus I knew he would be generous enough to let me try it too.)

When reading the instructions I was a little nervous about applying it on after washing my hair. (You can also apply it before bed as a pre-shampoo scalp treatment - I haven’t tried this method yet) With this treatment being 98% naturally derived ingredients this product includes:

Binchotan Charcoal: Detoxifies the scalp + hair by absorbing impurities + buildup*

Tea Tree Oil: Reduces flakiness promoting a clean and invigorated scalp*

Witch Hazel: Normalizes oil production to balance overall scalp hydration*

Biotin: Supports the hair shaft for overall hair health*

The first time I used this product, I was worried that applying oil to my scalp after washing would cause an oily scalp. How wrong I was! After sectioning my hair I applied a minimal amount of product to the crown of my scalp . (You only need to use the product where you have dry/flaky skin) Once applied, I used my fingers to gently rub the product into the scalp. When my hair was drying, I was shocked by the results. There was NO oiliness, flakes, buildup or itchiness! I normally get pretty bad dry skin towards the beginning of my hairline but there were absolutely no flakes/dryness! Plus this process took less than 5 minutes! Hands down the best scalp treatment I've ever tried. This will definitely last you a full year (if not longer) before needing to be repurchased.

You can also purchase their Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil micro-exfoliating shampoo ($42 - 8 oz.) if you prefer a more traditional wash and rinse treatment. Containing the same ingredients but instead of Witch Hazel + Biotin they use coconut oil + peppermint oil. This product is also an Allures Best of Beauty Winner - 2018.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk reparative leave-in conditioning spray on a white background

Rosarco™ Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

*This line is currently out-of-stock but I will keep you guys updated as to when they have products available.

$12 - 2 fl. oz. OR $20 - 5 fl. oz.

This product is for frizzy + dry/damaged hair and this line happens to be one of their best-sellers. I've tried many leave-in conditioners but I've always felt like they were too heavy for my hair, leaving it flat and oily. After trying this product a few times, I will definitely be repurchasing this in a larger size when they are back in stock. I did have some difficulty getting the product to not end up on my scalp. But when it is applied from the mid-length to ends and distributed correctly, my hair is incredibly soft and hydrated. For me, I only need one or two sprays to cover my hair. This will vary depending on your own personal hair texture+length.

Being 96% naturally derived, this product contains:

Rosehip Oil: Rich in essential fatty-acids that hydrate to control frizz and split ends.* (I've had personal experience with rosehip oil in my skincare products and they made the BIGGEST difference helping with the signs of aging, dull/uneven skin-tone and is great for acne-prone skin. If you want to try this oil I would highly recommend The Ordinary's 100% Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil for less than $10! )

Argan Oil: Provides extensive conditioning to combat dryness and diminish frizz*

Coconut Oil: Penetrates the hair shaft to seal in moisture, protecting against breakage and excess heat.*

Vitamin B: Softens the hair and promotes overall hair health*

I can't wait for #Briogeo to restock the Rosarco™ line so I can try their shampoo + condition in conjunction with the leave-in conditioning spray. Especially since they're out of stock, I'm assuming the products are in high-demand due to their effectiveness.
